Camping & Caravanning Club Certified Site
The Stevens family offer you a very warm welcome to our Camping and Caravanning Club Certified Site at Elm Farm, Cambridge, Gloucestershire. We hope that you will enjoy your stay with us and have a lovely relaxing break.
Cambridge is a little village/hamlet in the parish of Slimbridge and it takes its name from the River Cam which flows through it. It lies on the A38 road between Bristol and Gloucester, about three miles from Dursley.
Elm Farm is very easy to find being only five minutes from Junction 13 of the M5 (see map and directions below). Access is easy and direct off the A38. The site itself is set well back from the road and well away from traffic and any noise. The farm is a working arable farm and we grow a variety of crops, mainly winter wheat, spring barley, and field beans. There are some lovely walks around the fields and you are welcome to bring your dogs but please keep them on a lead around the farm buildings.
The site is level and spacious and you can choose to park either on the grass (which extends to approximately 1 acre) or on the adjoining hardstanding area which has ample room for 5 caravans. There are electric hook-ups for all caravans and these are easily accessible from both the hardstanding and the grass area, plus free Wi-Fi. There are excellent views of the Cotswold Hills and the surrounding countryside and the site benefits from the sun all day long.
We are ideally located for exploring the Cotswolds and the towns and villages in the Severn Vale. The cathedral city of Gloucester is 9 miles away and it only takes 20 minutes on the motorway to access the excellent shopping centres of Cheltenham and Cribbs Causeway, Bristol. There is a bus stop right outside the farm entrance and there are regular buses to Gloucester, Stroud & Bristol.
The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge is just down the road and the Gloucester to Sharpness canal with its new marina at Saul Junction is easily accessible and a walk along the towpath is highly recommended. There are lots of other interesting places to visit including Berkeley Castle, The Jenner Museum, The Tydale Monument, The Purton Hulks, Westonbirt Arbouretum and Woodchester Mansion.
There are a lot of excellent family and dog friendly pubs in the area serving good food as well as a variety of takeaways about 10 minutesí drive away. The George Inn in the village is within walking distance and the food is excellent.
The nearest supermarket is Tesco in Cam (3 miles away) and Stroud has Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsburys as well as its award winning Farmers Market.
Our charges are £15 a night which includes electric.
